The death of fishes in Epicentrum pool, Kuningan , South Jakarta and Ancol Beach was allegedly caused by water pollution from river water.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said, due to rain water volume was increased and water pollution of river water from headwater flowing into Jakarta.

Dead Fish Phenomenon Has Not Impacted Seribu Islands Waters

"Fishes in epicentrum pool which was made like river, are all dead. How could they die? there must be river water flowing in," said Ahok in Ritz Carlton Hotel, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (12/1).

He does not agree with the opinion says that the fishes died in some rivers in Jakarta because of beach reclamation project.

"Could sea water flow up to Epicentrum? It's far. It's proven that it's river water," he asserted
